Red Oak Vernon

Vernon

Appalachian Series Funeral Urn

The Vernon cremation urn is constructed from solid red oak. The accent cut around the top of the urn helps to provide a contrast to the strong vertical lines present in the body of the urn. The clean lines are complemented by the simple round detail on both the top and base of the urn.

The base of this cremation urn includes cork pads to protect any surface should you choose to display the urn. The base is securely attached to the body of the urn with six brass screws for easy cremains placement.

After construction, this cremation urn is meticulously hand sanded to prepare the urn to accept a lasting satin lacquer finish that is both smooth to the touch and complements the underlying beauty of the wood.

What inspired the Vernon cremation urn?

Mount Vernon is the name of the plantation home of George Washington which was constructed in the Georgian architectural style. The key design elements of the Georgian style are strong vertical lines, symmetry, and a simple, box-like structure. Keeping in line with these principles, we designed the Vernon cremation urn to represent the urn equivalent of a Georgian style home.
