Mahogany Pisgah

Pisgah

Appalachian Series Wooden Urn

The Pisgah cremation urn is handcrafted from solid mahogany, with maple and walnut inlays. The base of this urn features four wooden feet, each of which has a cork pad placed on the bottom to protect any surface should you choose to display this urn. The base is secured to the bottom of the urn with six brass screws, all easily removed to allow for cremains placement. The inlays that form the cross and horizontal stripe are solid wood and each piece has been hand cut and carefully assembled to ensure a perfect fit. The finely profiled lid completes the majestic appearance of this cremation urn, and brings all of the many design elements together.

After assembly, this cremation urn is meticulously hand sanded to make certain that the satin lacquer finish is smooth to the touch and will last for a life time. Great care is taken to ensure that each of the woods used in the construction of this urn remain vibrant and distinct.

What inspired the Pisgah cremation urn?

In the biblical book of Deuteronomy, God showed Moses the promised land from the top of a mountain. The name of this mountain is often translated to "Pisgah". Many religions believe that after death, the spirit will travel to paradise, which could be considered a promised land of sorts. We thought it would be intriguing to have a cremation urn, which is often seen as a symbol of death, to instead be a reference to the promised land that our souls will one day travel to.

"Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the Lord showed him the whole land..."

What do people think of the Pisgah wooden urn?

My 'final resting place' arrived today and is quite nice. I would say I look forward to using it but that would no doubt sound a bit weird. Thanks for doing such an excellent job and for your fast service.
