Handcrafted Wooden Cremation Urns
"We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him."
1 Thessalonians 4:14
GLC Woodcrafts is a small father and son business located near Asheville, NC. All of our wooden urns are handcrafted from select hardwoods, utilizing solid cherry, red oak, mahogany, walnut, and white oak. We take great care during construction to ensure that the wood used has similar grain and color, making the urn a uniform work of art. Each wood urn has a smooth, blemish free finish that serves to enhance and protect the natural beauty of the wood. We are not just making a simple wooden box, we are crafting a memorial that will preserve the memories of your loved one.
Currently, GLC Woodcrafts offers three distinct styles of cremation boxes: The Appalachian Series, Contemporary Series, and Mission Series. These three styles are detailed below. Cremation boxes featuring ideals and materials from the Appalachian Mountians
With clean lines and simple contrast, our Appalachian cremation boxes are inspired by the mountains we see every day from our shop windows. The distinct pattern of the wood grain is as diverse as the ridge lines of the mountains for which many of these cremation urns are named. Each of these cremation urns have been individually handcrafted, and great care has been taken to ensure that each is of the highest quality.

Mission Series Cremation Urns
Strong vertical and horizontal lines are the trademarks of the Mission cremation boxes
Mission Style furniture relies on a design principle that emphasizes simple horizontal and vertical lines and flat panels that accentuate the grain of the wood. Our mission style cremation urns all follow this principal, and inspiration for our designs ranges from Roycroft to Stickley. Traditionally, oak was the wood of choice for mission style furniture, and keeping with tradition, all of our mission style cremation urns are crafted from either oak or cherry.

Memory Boxes
Many times when a loved one dies, we wish to keep items that remind us of that person. A memory box is a wonderful way to keep these items together and safe. If you want to display your memory box for others to see, there are none as fine as our hand-built boxes.
